Circa 1970
Frank Day bought a Cheese Wholesalers from Mr Harvey & Mr Brockless called Harvey & Brockless in Hailsham, Sussex. Michael Day (Simon's Stepfather) joined his father in the business, and managed to gain Harrods, Dorchester and Intercontinental as customers.
Circa 1975
Harvey & Brockless London was set up.
1982
Harvey & Brockless London was sold to Antony Howeson and the Sussex branch rebranded to H&B Limited under Michael.
1988
Simon Yorke started working for Michael Day at H&B Limited.
1989
H&B Limited changed its name to The Huge Cheese Company.
1990
Jonnie Archer joined The Huge Cheese Company.
1992
Simon & Robert Norman bought The Huge Cheese Company from Michael Day.
1995
Porters Provisions was bought by The Huge Cheese Company.
1997
The Huge Cheese Company moved to New Covent Garden Market.
2000
Nick Martin and Nicky Philp joined The Huge Cheese Company.
2003
The Huge Cheese Company merged with Harvey & Brockless to create H&B.
2006
H&B was sold to an Icelandic who also acquired Fresh Olive.
2007
H&B bought Cheese Cellar and David South.
2009
The 3 directors, Simon Yorke, Jonnie Archer & Nick Martin bought back H&B and set up the trading name Cheese Cellar.
2012
Nicky Philp joins directors Simon Yorke, Jonnie Archer and Nick Martin as Purchasing Director.
